Iron Mines

Another work area that is rich in asbestos is the iron mines. Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral and thus it has been found to be occurring in many rock deposits. Many of the iron mines are also rich in asbestos. As a result the workers who work in these mines are at a risk of being exposed to the asbestos. Also many of the equipment used in the iron mines is insulated with asbestos. During the process of excavating the iron ore from the rock deposits, the asbestos dust and fiber might get disturbed and thus released in the air. The workers who are at a vicinity of such a place are most like to be exposed to the asbestos.

The exposure to asbestos can lead to many a deadly disease of which mesothelioma is the most dangerous. Meosthelioma is the cancer of the mesothelium that is a protective lining around majority of the internal organs of the human body.
